For the entirety of this review I would like for you to refer to me as Princess Kitten, because that’s what I feel like when I use this plug, a mother-fucking Princess. This is the sort of plug that Prince William and Princess Kate would have used on their royal honeymoon, I’m sure of it. It’s just that magical.
My stunt cock, however, felt less magical while wearing the Crystal Delights plug, but it might be because I told him I thought his matted, hairy ass was disgusting and he was contaminating my new beauty. My bad. You’re beautiful baby!
So, how did I come by such a magical plug? Well, first off, I’m not usually a very lucky person. Like, if there is a bad outcome and a good outcome to a situation, 95% of the time I feel like I get the bad outcome. And maybe its just because I’m a bundle of anxiety enacting self-fulfilling prophecies, killing myself with negative energy, but whatever the case, I am certainly never lucky enough to win anything… ever. At least that was until I received a message on Twitter from @CrystalDToys informing me I had won their Breast Cancer Awareness contest! What? WHAT?! Me?! I immediately called and interrupted stunt cock at work to tell him the good news… I am a winner!
Needless to say, I was pretty excited. I have been interested in Crystal Delights ever since I saw a pink pony tail glass plug at Smitten Kitten (one of my favorite sex shops!), I was in love and googled the company the moment I got home… which may have been a bad move, because once I found their website I was instantly in love with pretty much everything they carried… I wanted it all. Every. Last. Toy.
What makes Crystal Delight toys so special? Well, for starters they make their plugs from high quality, extremely durable Borosilicate glass (often referred to as Pyrex). While glass may sound fragile, it is actually pretty hardy, And glass is great because it is non-porous, which means it doesn’t absorb bodily fluids, lube, oils, bacteria, or any other bit of ick it might come into contact with, making it a very hygienic toy with proper cleaning.
Also, being a glass toy, you can use any sort of lube you would like. Since the plug is meant for anal play, I prefer something with silicone because I find that it’s longer lasting and more comfortable for anal sex then water based lubes.
Another great thing about glass is it works so darn well for temperature play! Drop it into warm or cold water and go nuts! While this is a high quality, well made toy and is unlikely to break or crack, it is still glass so use a little common sense and let the plug warm up/cool down to room temperature before you go from one extreme to the next.
The particular glass plug I won is part of the ‘Colors Against Cancer’ series, which is a line of toys created as part of Crystal Delights’ mission to give back and pay it forward. A portion of the profit from the Colors Against Cancer toys is donated annually towards awareness, advocacy and research about cancer, with each color representing a different type of cancer (for example, my pink plug is in recognition of breast cancer.). I think this is awesome, and like Crystal Delights says, by adding one of these plugs to your collection “you can feel good inside and out.”
I’ll be honest, when I first saw the Swarovski crystal up close I was a little worried that it would eventually loosen and fall out. So, of course, I had to pick at it. I tried to pry it off (this is why I can’t have nice things.) but it held on firmly, yay! This plug is as well made as I had hoped it would be!

The bulb was a little bit of a shock going in. I was expecting it to ease in a little more gracefully, but it went from zero to “whoa that’s a butt plug” in no time flat. The bulb is 1.3 inches in diameter, so not an overly large plug, but this is my first plug that is this bulbous. Everything else I own tapers a bit more gradually from a more cone shaped tip to bottom. So it was a bit of a surprise when I popped it in. Also, I have almost no patience for a proper warm up, it was a little lube, a little fingering, then in goes the plug. Had I relaxed and warmed up a little bit more, I bet it wouldn’t have been quite so shocking.
Once the glass plug was inserted though, it was really pretty comfortable. It has 2.8 inches of insertable length, perfect for me, I like my butt plugs on the shorter side. The narrow stem made it easy for my butt hole to close around it and hold it solidly in place. At no point did I ever feel like the plug would slip lose, not even during orgasm… which is one of my greatest fears, launching a butt plug across the room like a fart powered rocket. The base is flared, making this toy safe for anal play (whew!) and measures in at 1.7 inches in diameter. The base fits pretty comfortably between my cheeks, although it is wider then I would like for long term wear. After awhile, it felt a little funky sitting on it, but I am not usually into wearing a plug beyond sexual escapades. If you can stand it, it would be a fun and fancy plug to wear out on date night!
Clean up is a snap. Use a little soap and warm water, spray it down with a toy cleaner, wipe it down with peroxide or rubbing alcohol. In general you can boil borosilicate glass toys to sterilize, but because of the crystal embedded into the base, Crystal Delights warns against it. I also found that lube can build up a bit around the rim of the crystal, so you may want to take a little extra time to clean that out with a q-tip or a soft bristled tooth brush.
So, the big question, do I recommend the Crystal Delights Glass Plug? Yes! Without a doubt! The material is fantastic, the quality is stunning, the design is great… I have almost nothing negative to say about this toy. I may not recommend this as your first plug/beginners plug, just because I think the bulb is a little rougher to push in then something more cone shaped, especially if you aren’t used to inserting something into your rectum. But, if anal play is your thing, this plug would make a great addition to any collection, and its just so goldarn beautiful to look at. If you do any kind of adult performances, like camming, I could see this being a really fun addition to your repertoire!
