Oh Zing, my most favorite of all my butt plugs. Why has it taken me so long to get around to reviewing you? Maybe it’s because I’m selfish and don’t want to share a good thing. Maybe deep down, I’m tragically hip and know as soon as this awesome toy goes mainstream, it will lose all its magic for me. Maybe I’m lazy. Who knows? But all that matters now is that I am finally sharing my little anal secret.
Tantus Zing, you sexy devil.
Once upon a time (like three years ago), I found myself on a mission to acquire a brand new butt plug. And so I found myself browsing the wall of butt plugs at the Smitten Kitten. I remember the Tantus Zing standing out among its smooth, boring neighbors. It was purple, it was textured, it had certain je ne sais quoi to it. I knew I had to have it, although I was nervous about the four pronounced ribs circling its body. I had never had a textured anal plug before… everything before it was slim, smooth and almost nondescript. Intrigued, the Tantus Zing was purchased and from the moment I tried it, I was hooked! Because baby, once you go Zing, you’ll never need no things…. uhh… no, that doesn’t quite work.
The Tantus Zing, is a nonporous, hypoallergenic, latex and phthalates-free vibrating butt plug (whew, that’s a mouthful.). And like all of Tantus’ toys, made from 100% platinum silicone! The toy is smooth, shiny, free of any mold lines and easy to insert. The tapered tip of the Zing helps it slide easily into the body Once the tip is in, that’s when the real party starts, you’ll begin to feel a series of firm, rounded ribs.
It’s those ribs that do it for me. Whoa boy, those ribs… With most plugs once they are in, they are in until I’m finished, but with Zing I think it feels really nice to just slide the plug in and out, feeling that delicious ribbing brushing softly against my sphincter. I find that the sensation of the ribbing is just enough to be pleasurable, but not enough to be overwhelming or uncomfortable. If you are new to textured anal toys, I think you’ll find the Tantus Zing enjoyable.

Even though I will sing this plugs praises from the mountain top, I still have some complaints. Honestly, everything below the head of this plug I hate. The design of the neck is really pretty obnoxious… the hourglass shaped neck is the way it is to accommodate the hollow space for the bullet, but really, I think this plug could do without it. I don’t find the bullet vibrator all that thrilling.
My only real complaint when it comes to the Tantus Zing is that it doesn’t want to stay put. I have to keep a hand on it while I’m masturbating, having sex, and especially during orgasm, otherwise it pops right out. The wide neck makes it difficult to anchor it into my body. I think a longer, narrower stem would make this toy perfect. I know that the more hourglass shaped neck is the way for it is to accommodate the hollow space for the bullet, but honestly, I think this plug could do without it. I don’t find the bullet vibrator all that thrilling.
The included bullet is a pretty basic single-speed battery powered vibrator. The vibrations are not all that intense and are felt most strongly around the neck of the toy, getting weaker as it travels up. It’s kind of nice, but it really doesn’t add anything to the toy for me. In a pinch I have used it as a clitoral simulator, but again, it’s nothing to write home about. Since the bullet is removable, you could replace it with something stronger if you really needed your butt to vibrate.

I also don’t think this makes a great long term plug, unless you don’t like sitting down. This is because of how far the end of the bullet protrudes out from the base. However, if you are willing to give up the vibrations while you wear it, you could remove the bullet. The wide, flat base does sit comfortably between the cheeks, so you could give it a go as a long term plug, but unless you have a sphincter with a death grip (which I must not have) I think the plug slippage will be a constant struggle throughout the day. What I really want is a butt plug with a head like Zing but a stem and base like my Crystal Delights glass plug…now that would be heaven!
Also, bonus, you can turn the Tantus Zing into a toy you can ride by adding a suction cup. I’ve never done this, but I bet it would be awesome!
Do I recommend the Tantus Zing? Yes, so long as you are aware of its flaws, I think the textured head makes up for a lack-luster neck. Also, no matter how much I tell you I love this toy, I think textured anal toys are something you are either going to love or hate and you’ll just have to figure that out on your own. This is a unique plug and has been my go-to plug for quite awhile.
