When I first started seeing reviews of the Blush Novelties Noje W3 pop up, I was pretty skeptical. I just couldn’t believe that a wand so tiny could be as good as people were saying. Considering one of my last experiences with a tiny wand vibrator was the Body Wand Mini… you can understand my hesitation. But, do you know what’s fun? Being taken completely by surprise by a sex toy that you honestly thought was going to be just another shitty mini wand (just like the very terrible Body Wand mini… sometimes being cute just isn’t enough…). Unlike the buzzy, bad, Body Wand Mini the Noje W3 took me by surprise, but in a totally good way! Blush Novelties has managed to create a mini wand that is actually both cute and rumbly! I tip my hat to you folks… okay, I don’t have a hat… but if I did, I would tip it…. how about instead I… flap my labia? Yes, I flap my labia in appreciation of what you have done with this wand style vibrator.
We are only one paragraph in and this review has already gotten really weird. I think we should all just take a moment to clear our heads… because I don’t know about you, but I have a very unsettling mental image of flapping labia… which sort of looks like a sting ray swimming… Yeah, I’m going to take a break for a minute.
Anywho… (I just finished binge watching Santa Clarita Diet and now this word is stuck in my head), the Noje W3 is one of three little wands that Blush Novelties has recently released (and if the other two are anything like the Noje W3, then I’m betting the whole collection is pretty phenomenal) and after some thorough testing (while watching copious amounts of Quantum Leap…. hey… some people watch porn, I watch Dr. Sam Beckett leap through time trying to get home…) I am suitably impressed by this little vibrating wand. Sure, it’s not going to replace the Hitachi or Doxy any time soon… but it is conveniently sized for travel or for those times you don’t want to drag out those other beasts but still wait a satisfying orgasm (and who doesn’t want a satisfying orgasm?).
Material-wise the Noje W3 possesses a very smooth, lovely silicone head (which is awesome… for the longest time I felt like I was running into wand after wand after wand with TPE or other porous materials for wand heads). The head is also removable, it is just a silicone sleeve that slides right off, which is great for cleaning! I have been tossing the head sleeve (does that make it a hat? Does my Noje wear a dapper silicone hat?) into some boiling water and presto… I have a clean wand! The rest of the wand appears to be made from ABS plastic, which is also easy to clean, just wipe it down. The Noje W3 claims to be waterproof as well, so in theory you could give it a good rinse under the faucet if you needed to as well.
The Noje W3 is currently available in three color choices. Rose (pink), Wisteria (purple), and Sage (green) which is the color of the wand featured in this review. There are a lot of people who really hate on pink and purple colored sex toys (which is fine, everyone has their own tastes) but I actually really enjoy both the colors pink and purple (and if plaid is considered a color, I also like plaid… ooh and glitter… omg… is glitter plaid a thing? Can we make it a thing? CAN SOMEONE GET ME A GLITTER PLAID VIBRATOR STAT?!) but I really do think that Sage is the star in this collection. That lovely pale green is super nice and kind of unexpected in a world full of pink and purple sex toys.
Operating the Noje W3 is as easy as pushing a button… because there is literally only one button on this thing. Located at the very bottom of the wand is button with the universal power symbol (Is it universal? does everyone know that means power? I’ve never stopped to wonder this before…). To turn the Noje W3 on just push and hold that button for about three seconds and the toy should spring to life. Continuing to click that button will then cycle you through the vibrating wands ten modes. The Noje W3 has five constant speed settings and five vibration pattern modes. The patterns are nothing to write home about, but if you are the kind of person who gets a kick out of vibration patterns maybe you’ll enjoy them… I didn’t… but I almost never do. Now, as far as vibration quality goes… I think the wand does possess a fair bit of rumble to it. But, from what I have read, other reviewers seem to be split on whether to call this wand rumbly or buzzy. For me, I really think the bottom four speeds are definitely more of a rumble… however when I get to that final top end speed (setting number five) I really do start to feel some buzz and it seems like a lot of the vibration does end up in the handle and in my hand rather then transferring through the head and onto my clit. The Noje W3 does feel surprisingly strong for something so small, there is definitely some power running through it… its just a bummer that it couldn’t hold it together at that top end speed (but its doing a far better job at being a decent vibrator than a lot of other wands I’ve tried).
The Noje W3 is rechargeable, which is super cool. An awful lot of the wands of this size that I have encountered have all been battery powered. Battery powered often leads to a weak and buzzy toy (with some exceptions) so being rechargeable helps give the Noje W3 more of a kick to its power. Charging the Blush Novelties Noje W3 is a simple affair (unless you are the kind of person who loses charging cables, like I am… can we please just move to a universal charging cable among sex toys? Or at the very least among brands… have all your toys charge using the same style charger, that way disorganized people like me don’t have to email companies for new charging cables EVERY GODDAMN MONTH… ahem… sorry for that outburst), on the base of the wand is a little charge port. So like, if the power button was the front bottom (as they apparently say in Britain) there is a small gap just behind it (the vibrators taint) and the charging port would logically be the asshole of the wand. So just shove the included charger into the Noje’s asshole and the USB into your computer or wall adapter and you are good to go! The charger itself appears to be magnetic but be weary of the itty bitty little pin like thing at the end of the cable (I know its there because I managed to step on it just right) because it does have the potential to bend out of shape (see previous parenthetical comment) and then charging your wand becomes a finicky affair. I’m going to guess ‘normal’ people don’t leave their charging cables laying around the house so odds are you won’t have the same problems I do… my life is just weird. When your Noje W3 wand first arrive, Blush recommends setting it on its charger for 1.5 hours, which they say will net you about an hour of play time. This seems to be more or less true, I believe I did get about an hour and change out of my Noje before it went dead on me. Your time may vary depending on what speed you run your wand at (probably, this seems like a sciencey sort of fact that makes me sound like I know what I’m talking about).
In use, one of the first things I noticed I really liked about the Noje W3 was the shape of its handle. The ergonomically curved handle makes its pretty easy to hold and coupled with the flexible neck of the wand directing the head (and vibrations) where you like them is pretty easy. I like to put a lot of pressure down onto my clit while masturbating with a vibrator, so I really appreciated that the flexible neck allowed me to do that but I was also still able to kind of shift and rock the head around without losing that pressure and contact. Like I said earlier, the vibrations feels reasonably rumbly to me (of course it doesn’t have the rumble to match the Doxy Die Cast, but at this size… I really don’t expect it to… it’s apples and oranges here) and I really enjoyed four out of the five speeds… that last one… that one really does a number on my hand, it becomes very numb if I spend too long on that fifth intensity setting, but at the same time… it does still have a kind of vaguely rumbly quality to it… but it’s not nearly as noticeable as it is on the lower setting. Orgasming with the Noje W3 took longer than it does for me with one of my bigger wands, but I did eventually have a very satisfying orgasm (or two… or three…). During partner play we ended up using the Noje W3 to tease nipples and taints and penis heads… so it has the potential to be versatile… don’t feel like its just for clits.
Man, Blush Novelties has really been busting out some super cute toys lately! There is the Mio, which I really enjoyed and then there is the super fun and colorful Avant line (I own the D4 and D2) and now there are these Noje wands… and while I can’t speak for all the wands (although I’m guessing they are as nice as the W3) I can say without out a doubt that I do recommend the Blush Novelties Noje W3. I think this would make a great wand if you are looking for a traveling companion as it would be much easier to pack than larger toys but still carries enough oomph to not be settling for something inferior just for the sake of saving some packing space. I think it would also make an excellent wand for someone looking for their first external vibrating wand, it won’t break the budget (so if you really hate it, you at least didn’t throw away hundreds of dollars) and powerful enough to give you a good time. Right now, I’ve got my Noje W3 sitting in my desk drawer… you know, for those times when you are sitting at your computer and you suddenly feel the overwhelming urge to orgasm. Everyone has a desk vibrator, right? Right?!
