Okay, so I like butt plugs. I’m not ashamed to say it. I like the way it feels to have something all up in my butthole while I’m having sex. But, I am also kind of picky. It has to feel just right, my anus is the Goldilocks of anal toys.
At this point in my life, I own many butt plugs. I have big plugs, small plugs, silicone plugs, glass plugs, plugs with tails, plugs made of metal… if you can dream it, I probably have a plug for that. Currently, my Tantus Ryder is my most favorite of all my butt plugs, this is my “just right,” plug, the plug I compare all other plugs to. So, Severin had some serious work to do if it was going to dethrone my Ryder as the king of my butthole.
I had no reason to doubt Severin. I would lube it up and it would nestle its bubbly black body in my rectum and all would be well with the world. Or at least so I thought. But Severin… Severin, Severin, Severin…. you make me feel like I’m pooping.
There is absolutely no way to sugar coat that. When I insert the Tantus Severin Small I feel like I am taking a dump. Sorry.
My thoughts are that this is largely due to the larger, bottom most bulb resting just along the inside of my butt hole, giving that persistent feeling of needing to poop.
I guess, in some way that feeling is kind of satisfying. There is something really orgasmic about having a really great poop, but that isn’t necessarily a sexy feeling, not something I think I’m missing in the throws of a great masturbation session. But hey, if that is your thing… have I got a plug for you!
My other issue with the Tantus Severin Small is that it really doesn’t want to stay put. It does everything it possibly can to escape my butt and roll to freedom. It is definitely not a great “stay-put” plug during sex, not unless I clench my butt like there is no tomorrow. And as soon as I orgasm, POP, the Severin comes flying out (maybe not flying, more like, sadly oozing). Maybe if the stem was longer or maybe even thinner, my sphincter could close around it together and hold onto the thing, but as it stands now, it’s an escape artist.
Inserting is a bit of a challenge unless I’ve warmed up first. The small tip is nice and easy to insert, the second bulb is a little bit more of a challenge but still easily doable it’s the last large bulb that is a bit of something to work up to (I imagine this is doubly so for the larger sizes of Severin). The lack of a taper makes a little more difficult to insert. But I like a challenge (unless it involves a lot of hard work, then I’d prefer a nap)! It takes plenty of lube and a little bit of coaxing, but I can get the whole thing in without too much trouble. I think my butthole is just confused by the shape.
Once it is in, it is pretty comfortable (if I ignore the feeling of having to poop), it gives a nice feeling of fullness, nothing jabs or bumps in an uncomfortable way. That base though. I don’t know, the way it juts out is kind of… obnoxious, I guess would be the word. If I walk around with the Severin in that base goes poke, poke, poke, against my butt cheeks. It doesn’t hurt, but it is distracting. Sitting isn’t so bad, if I find the right position. A base more like the redesigned Ryder would be pretty awesome.
Since I can’t keep the Severin in (or at least feel like I can’t), I started doing the next best thing with it. Thrusting. When I am super turned on, and everything is going right, and I’ve got one of my wand vibrators against my clit, I love the feeling of something thrusting slowly in and out of my ass. Slow pushing the tip and the first bulbous portion in and pulling it back out is super dreamy. That is the best way I have found to use the Severin butt plug.
It is easy to clean, since it is silicone it is 100% waterproof. Throw it in the sink, wipe it down with a rag and 10% bleach solution, or do what I do and use the top rack of your dishwasher to get it squeaky clean! If you read my blog in any sort of regularity, you know that usually I recommend avoiding silicone lube with silicone toys. Now, I’m a bad girl and sometimes I don’t have water based lube handy, so I will reach for a silicone lube (especially when I’m doing butt stuff), so far, my Tantus toys have survived silicone lube with out any problems. However, probably not something to make a habit of. But I just wanted to illustrate just how amazing Tantus’ premium silicone is.
The Tantus Severin comes in three different sizes, there is the small (which is featured in this review), a medium and a large. Part of me is weirdly curious about the large… even though I know I probably wouldn’t like it… I just want to try it… for science.
Overall, the Tantus Severin Small just makes me feel like I’m having a bowl movement and I just don’t think I like that. And maybe this is just me, maybe you all have rectums better suited for this plug, so if the shape of this plug intrigues you, give it a try. I really can’t say that I hate this plug, it is made from Tantus’ amazing silicone after all. The Severin is definitely a high quality butt-plug and is no doubt just right for someone else. In fact, I really hope it is just me, because this is such a cool looking plug that I want it to work for someone (I just wish that someone was me)! But in my bedroom, it is now affectionally called the “realistic poop simulator” because that is what it does for me. I may have to have my Stunt Cock give the Severin a go and see if it does something magical for the prostate.
Ready for your own realistic poop simulator… I mean Severin butt plug? You can purchase it directly from Tantus or find it at SheVibe.
The Tantus Severin Small was sent to me free of charge by Tantus in exchange for my honest review.
