Bodywand WandPlus Curve G8 – Sex Toy Review

Oh look, I managed to make exactly one post before I just had to review another wand, this seems pretty good for me! Let’s just call today Wand Wednesday and get right down to it, shall we? Wand Wednesday… I like that. I also like Wand Thursday, Wand Friday, Wand Saturday… Everyday is a good day when you have a vibrating wand!

Lovehoney, those fantastic bastards, have sent me yet another wand on my wishlist! The Bodywand WandPlus Curve, because owning one Bodywand WandPlus just wasn’t enough, like Pokemon, I’ve gotta catch ’em all! There are three toys currently in the WandPlus series, the G Spot, the Curve and the Rabbit… once I get my greedy paws on that Rabbit wand, I will combine them all and unleash power like the world has never known! MUAHAHAHAHA!

Am I a sex toy super villain? What… no… of course not…. why would you think that?

Bodywand WandPlus Curve Control Dial

Much of what I have to say about the Curve, I have already said in my earlier review of the Bodywand WandPlus G Spot. They are practically identical with the exception of how the insertable shaft is shaped.  But, I’m going to go ahead and assume you are a very busy, very important person who has not had time yet to read my G Spot review and give you the full down and dirty description of the Bodywand WandPlus Curve here. Which just means more work for me… but… don’t let me make you feel guilty or anything… whatever… it’s cool.

The WandPlus series of toys are all outlet powered, insertable wands. For realsies, it’s pretty awesome and I love Bodywand for making this a thing in my life. I am a power hog, I like it deep, rumbly, and super sonic… the WandPlus toys do fall a little short of my ideal vibration, but it is still pretty impressive. To me, the WandPlus Curve feels pretty high-powered, but maybe a little buzzier than I would like… although definitely not the bad chew-your-genitals-off sort of buzzy. At the lower settings, it does feel much deeper… but still not what I think of when dreaming of deep, rumbling vibrations.

One thing I didn’t talk about in my G Spot review is the packaging. It is not the world’s most discreet box, if you leave the toys packaging sitting out and someone takes a gander, they are going to know exactly what you bought. There is a large picture of the wand plastered pretty prominently, stretching from one end to the other end of the box. I had to laugh a little when I ended up throwing away the G Spot’s box because you could see it pretty clearly through the white trash bag I had tossed it into. So, now the garbage men know what I’m up to. But, as far as packaging goes, it is still pretty classy, the outer sleeve (which contains the large picture) slips off to reveal a plain matte black box with glossy black lettering that reads “Bodywand WandPlus,” it’s nice, very subtle. I’ve kept my inner boxes for storage and have done away with the obnoxious outer sleeves.

So, the shape of the shaft on the Curve is pretty much what you would imagine… it’s curved. The shaft curves upwards and becomes slightly wider near the head of the toy, although nowhere near as bulbous as the G Spot toy. For insertion, I kind of prefer the shape of the Curve to the G Spot, it is much easier to thrust in and out and still hits my G-Spot with flying colors!

Bodywand WandPlus Curve Vibrating WandThe wand is made from ABS plastic with the handle being covered in kind of a crackly textured silicone and the insertable shaft covered in a smooth pink silicone. Pink really doesn’t bother me as a color for a sex toy, but I’ve heard complaints from people who just can’t stand the very idea of letting a pink toy near their genitals. This is currently the only color the Curve comes in, personally my vagina is color blind and once a toy goes it, I could care less if it was pink, blue, or nasty mustard yellow. Although… I am a sucker for pink… so maybe I’m bias. The G Spot is a dark shade of purple while the Rabbit comes in a bright pink color.

I said it with the G Spot and I will say it again, these suckers are loud! It really does sound like a tiny airplane is prepare for takeoff… I’d like to make a landing strip pubes joke here, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. But imagine I did, and it was hilarious. I even decided to run my own little noise experiment! I thought maybe it was just my G Spot toy that was loud, maybe something was faulty, so why not plug the Curve in and run the same test I did for the G Spot. I turned it up to full power and left it in my bedroom and closed the door. I then wandered from room to room of my house and could hear it pretty clearly in each room. Granted, I live in a fairly small two bedroom townhouse but still… if you are looking for discreet, this is not the toy you want. It is still an awesome toy, it just might be the vibrator you pull out when the house is empty (unless you are like me, and don’t give a rat’s butt.).

Operation of the Curve is pretty simple, the whole thing is controlled using a scrolling wheel. To turn it on, just scroll the wheel down, keep rolling and you will increase the Curve’s intensity levels, to decrease the intensity just roll the wheel back up and to turn it off, just keep rolling until it clicks off. Very simple, it makes it super easy to vary the intensity levels while using the WandPlus Curve.  The handle, which is your basic wand shaped handle, is also very easy and comfortable to hold, with easy access to the controls, fits perfectly in my grip and feels… dare I say… almost ergonomic. There is also a small button on the backside of the handle which controls the pulsation patterns of the Curve. Just like with my G Spot wand, I totally didn’t realize that little feature was there until I was re-reading the packaging. The button really blends in well with the silicone around it, although you can feel it as a raised bump if you are paying attention. The Curve contains the same eight pulsation patterns as the G Spot, they aren’t bad, normally I use only the steady vibration setting on my toys, but a few of these functions are pretty solid and enjoyable.

Bodywand WandPlus Curve Bodywand LogoThe WandPlus Curve is not waterproof, so cleanup is a little more involved than I normally like… I’m so lazy. SOOOOooo lazy… The Curve features these three super annoying ridges along the bottom of the shaft, just above where the silicone meets the plastic part of the handle… and shit collects in there like you wouldn’t believe. Well, not literal shit, because I’m not using this in my butt hole (which brings up a good question, can we consider this wand anal safe? There is no flared base… but… there is a long cord… someone help me out with this one!), but lube and vagina secretions wedge themselves down into those grooves and I have to spend an absurd about of time brushing it out of there with a cotton swab. Why do those ridges exist? WHY?! My guess is that they are purely decretive… and I hate them. Well, I don’t hate them, they do look nice… but man, I hate extra cleaning.  Also, I have realized how hard it is to clean the textured handle, I didn’t really lube up when I reviewed the G Spot wand, so I didn’t notice this then, but, I had pretty lubey hands the last time I used the Curve and I noticed lots of dried up lube stuck in the crackled texture… this took using my sex toy cleaning toothbrush to clean out. I mean, this shouldn’t really convince you not to buy the wand, its not really THAT hard to clean… but like I said… lazy. So lazy.

The WandPlus Curve features a 30 minute shut off timer. Which is very stressful, I feel like I’m racing the clock when I masturbate! This feature is probably in case you masturbate and run, leaving your wand vibrating away under the covers of your bed. I’m guessing it is to stop the wand from overheating and exploding in a massive, city destroying, fireball. But this thing is so loud, I really don’t know how you would ever forget to turn it off.

I really do like the Bodywand WandPlus Curve, I think it is a unique spin on the vibrating wand. I like that Bodywand took two of my favorite things insertable toys and high powered vibrating wands and mushed them together to make a toy that I didn’t know I was missing until now. I love the whole concept. The toy is also very well made, pleasing to look at, comfortable to hold, and has earned itself a place in my masturbation box beside my bed. I totally the Bodywand Wand Plus Curve (or the G Spot, if thats what you are looking for) and I’m pretty sure you are going to like it. If you don’t like it, don’t tell me… I hate being wrong.
