Tantus Bound Silicone Dildo – Sex Toy Review

Visually speaking, the Tantus Bound is hands down one of my favorite dildos yet. I spent a lot of time staring at it on their webpage before I finally broke down and had to have it. In fact, the email I sent to Tantus said “This dildo haunts my dreams, I must have it!”

Bound is designed to look like a penis that has been wrapped up in spiraling loops of rope (hence the name “Bound”). The tightly wrapped rope creates a squeezing, bulging look to the penis, along with the addition of realistic, bulging veins, wrinkles and a vaguely skin-like texture along the shaft. Ah! I’m getting hot just writing about it! This is one of the few toys that can really turn me on just by looking at it!

As a closet Domme with a curiosity in cock and ball torture, this toy really speaks to me. Boy oh boy does it speak to me! But, straight out of the box, I will admit my heart fell just a little bit. For some reason I had imagined Bound to be bigger. I had visions of a fat, large cock all wrapped up and ready to go. It’s actual size was a bit underwhelming. I got over my heartbreak pretty quickly though, I just can’t stay mad at a toy that looks like this… the rope detailing really is stunning. Besides, Tantus gave me fair warning:

“Bound is an average sized dildo. It’s not too big and not too small, providing a realistic feeling with an exciting twist.”

So, honestly, I should have realized it wouldn’t be a huge toy. Bound has about 6.25 inches of insertable length and is 1.5 inches in diameter, pretty manageable toy for most I would say. (But if one ever was made in a bigger size, I’d be first in line to pick one up!).

It should come to no surprise that the Tantus Bound is a very textured toy. Every inch of it is covered in a bump, groove, ridge, or wrinkle of some sort. Even the head of the toy is covered in roughly textured “skin.” So, a veritable playground for those vaginas and buttholes that like to feel it all! I am one of those people who love texture, but even this got to be a bit much after awhile. The texture that I initially loved and drooled over eventually began to feel abrasive and cause some chafing. But, it was an easy fix, more lube and things were all a movin’ and a groovin’ again. If you have sensitive/delicate skin, this may not be the toy for you (or at the very least, be aware and keep it lubed up!).

Another great thing about the Bound is the way it angles upwards ever so slightly, meaning I am able to position it to hit my g-spot quite easily. The rough texture of the head causes a very appealing sensation against my g-spot. The coil of rope right under the head really rubbed me the right way. (Its worth noting Bound isn’t exactly built for g-spot play, but I was able to maneuver it into place without much trouble. So, if you are searching specifically for a g-spot toy, you may want to opt for something else.) The Tantus Bound didn’t bring me to any mind blowing g-spot orgasms, but it felt good, real good.

Bound features a flared base, making it totally anal-safe and harness compatible! The party never ends with Bound! And of course, like all of Tantus’ dildos, Bound is crafted from 100% platinum cure silicone.

Cleaning takes a little extra elbow grease, due to its textured nature, there are lots of crevices for body fluids and lube hide in. So, it’s worth spending a little extra time cleaning the Bound after play, really tackle it with wipes, throw it in the dishwasher, boil it, whatever your preferred clean up method is, its worth doing a good job. I don’t know about you, but its not exactly sexy to pull out a toy for play only to find last weeks vagina goo still crusted on it. Blah. (I’m ashamed to say I’ve been there… I’ve been there folks… learn from my mistakes.)

Do I recommend the Tantus Bound? It would be hard not to! Like I said before, if you like texture, you’ll like Bound. If you know that you cannot handle lots of texture and prefer something smoother and softer, this may not be for you. Also, if you are more into size, this may not be the perfect fit for you, it is a pretty average sized toy. For me though, I love it, its aesthetically pleasing, like the Tantus Uncut #2, Bound is a really innovative and unusual toy (however, unlike the Uncut #2, Bound is not crafted from the same dual density material, making it a much firmer toy.).

The Tantus Bound is available in three skin tone reminiscent color choices: cream, cocoa and black. I asked for my Bound in black, and I do not regret it. The detailing really pops on the black. The only thing I kind of hate about having picked out black, is that every piece of lint, dirt, and hair really shows up against it in any and all pictures I took of it. So… yeah, there is that.

Should you wish to bring home a Tantus Bound of your very own, you can purchase it directly from Tantus for $61.95!

Tantus Bound was provided to me free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion.
