For whatever reason, the Screaming O Toone makes me think of that old Disney Cartoon, Bonkers. Anyone else remember that? With the anthropomorphic Bobcat that left show business and became a cop in Tinseltown? Please tell me I’m not the only person who remembers that show… I’ll feel really old then. Why does this remind me of that old cartoon? Well… the explanation is really quite long winded, silly and rather round about… but… I will try to sum it up as succinctly as I can. That 90’s gem from Toon Disney, has always given me strong Who Framed Rodger Rabbit vibes… I think it may have something to do with the ill-tempered stick-in-the-mud human cop who hates Toons that ends up with Bonkers as his partner… its an awful lot like the Eddie Valiant private detective character in Who Framed Rodger Rabbit… which is set in Toontown… which I always get mixed up with Tinseltown, where Bonkers and his partner work… SO… my brain kind of mashes the the film and the cartoon series together to create some kind of nonsensical new world… which is what leads me to think of the cartoon series Bonkers every time I picked up my Screaming O Toone. Does any of this make sense? Absolutely not. Was any of this relevant to this review. That would also be a big no. But did I feel the need to explain it all to you anyway… you bet your sweet bippy I did.
This is my first ever Screaming O toy… up until now, I have really avoided this company because all I had ever seen from them was crappy jelly looking cock rings hanging in uncomfortably sticky and stale sex shops and such. I had no idea they made anything silicone… although I also never really bothered searching their products out either. So, I’m pleasantly surprised to find that not everything they make is questionable looking junk.
The Screaming O Toone is a rechargeable dual motor vibe that fits right in the palm of my hand! Technically, I guess we can classify this as a rabbit vibe, it has two ears… it vibrates… it’s just doesn’t have that (annoying) insertable bit. So… maybe not a full fledged rabbit… more like a… baby bunny… it’s a Kit Vibe! If that phrase takes off, just remember you heard it here first. Pulling this toy out of a box of goodies sent by Peepshow Toys, I was first struck by how stinking cute the Toone is. Its kind of an abstract, cartoony (TOONE… is there a connection here?!) bunny rabbit head… not nearly as detailed as the similarly petite Rocks-Off Ramsey Rabbit or Blush Novelties Aria Buzz Bunny but still adorable in its own, simplistic way. Actually… the more I look at it the more it kind of reminds me of the rabbit heads in my Animal Crossing Pocket Camp app… I’m getting serious Bunnie or Chrissy vibes off this thing… The body of the Toone is pretty much just a ball with a 6 inch circumference and a flattened base and two ears that measure about 1.5 inches from the ball base. It is a small toy that fits comfortably in my hand.
The Screaming O Toone describes itself as being affordable… which for some reason immediately puts me in the mindset of cheap quality and bad, buzzy vibes. Even though I’ve used many toys described as being affordable and have had knock my socks off orgasms with them… the word affordable still makes me assume disappointment. With the Screaming O packaging putting “Affordable” in big letters right near the top of the box, I assumed we were talking like $20-$30 affordable… like… something I could actually afford. Nope, currently, the Toone retails for around $45, which is kind of on the upper end of affordable… but its still under $50, so I guess I’ll let it get away with proclaiming itself as being affordable. For me, this isn’t “I can drop that kind of cash right now affordable” its more like “I can budget that into my next paycheck and maybe short change one of my utility bills for a few weeks” kind of affordable (Yeah… believe it or not… I’m not getting filthy stinking rich blogging about sex toys). Anyway… I feel like I’ve gotten a bit of track here… what I am trying to say is… the Toone is definitely not as “cheap” (in quality or price) as the word affordable makes me think.
I was kind of struggling at what to say in this review. The easiest reviews to write are for toys that I either absolutely love or toys that I completely loath… but when it comes to the kinds of toys that are in the middle of the road, toys that are neither super amazing but are also not terrible either…thats where it gets tough for me. I feel like I have less to say on those middling toys. The Screaming O Toone falls right smack dab in the middle of my love/hate spectrum… the best way to describe it is by comparing it to the movie You’ve Got Mail. It is one of those movies that is good enough, you can stand watching it again, but its also something that is super easy to forget that it even exists… like… I bet you had totally forgotten about it until I mentioned it just now, but now that your thinking about it… you wouldn’t mind watching it again… right? That is how I feel about the Toone, like… it is good enough for a sex toy, it gets the job done, it gives me orgasms and I would totally use it again… but also, its not so memorable that I would constantly reach for it… if another toy captured my attention, I would easily forget I even have the Toone… but if I were to stumble across the Toon again months later I would remember it being alright and be happy using it again. You know what I mean?
I do have to say that I was actually pretty impressed by how strong the Toone actually ended up being, some of its top end speeds really get going something fierce! And it was rumbly as well! I was really expecting it to be a buzzy nightmare (I’m such a pessimist)… so finding that it had the capacity for some rumble was a fabulous turn of events. Each of the bunny’s ears has its own motor (hence the whole dual motor thing I mentioned earlier), which is cool… it means I actually feel the vibrations through the ears, rather than it just being some second hand vibration coming from somewhere in its core (like the Ramsey or the Buzz Bunny… which are both depending on a bullet vibrator at their centers to send vibrations up through the ears). The space between the ears was wide enough for me to slip my clit between, but still tight enough that I was able to enjoy the feeling of being sandwiched between rumbly vibrations. The ears seems just flexible enough that if you needed the space to open up a bit wider to accommodate you, you could do it. It isn’t wildly flexible (remember, its got those motors in there) but I can get them to spread open about the length of my thumb before I start feeling like I’m going to break it.
What I enjoyed even more than squashing my clit between the ears was using the blunt, rounded end of one of the ears and mushing it down directly on my clit. That felt great and was a good way to get a bit more pinpoint vibration directly onto where I wanted it. I also sandwiched my nipples in between the ears and enjoyed some excellent sensations that way as well (I love nipple stuff… my nipples get so sensitive, I can occasionally orgasm from just nipple stuff alone… its wild and delightful). The Toon is a pretty simple shape, but it ended up being somewhat versatile in how I delivered orgasms to me, I really can’t think of much I have to complain about.
The Toone is rechargeable (which makes it worth its higher-end of affordable price… don’t have to keep buying batteries) and comes with a USB power cable. Plug the USB end into an AC Adapter (you know, like that phone charger cube you no doubt have) or a computer and off you go. When the red light is on, it means that the Toone is charging and once the red light is off it means that the Toone is fully charge… or that it has been disconnected from the charging cable… which is what happened to me, thought it was fully charged only to realize I hadn’t fully pushed the USB end into the computer… so I spent several hours not charging my Toone. The instructions recommend that you fully charge the Screaming O Toone regularly every 1 to 2 months to preserve the toy’s battery life… so that is some good advice there. At first glance it may not be super obvious where to plug the cable into on the toy itself, its got a sneaky little port. Turn the toy over, and you’ll see what looks like a little silicone pad, that is the charge port. Just take the pokey end of the charge cable and gently stab it through that silicone pad.
Operating the Toone is as easy as clicking a button. Seriously, there is only one button… you’ve got this. Press and hold the power button on the toy’s body for about 3 seconds to turn the Toone on and repeat this step again to power it off. The Toone comes equipped with 20 (yes… TWENTY) “FUNctions”… their words… not mine…. Ten of those functions are increasing, steady speeds (weeeee!) the other ten are pulse patterns (meh). Actually, some of the patterns weren’t all that bad, I enjoyed the patterns that kind of bounced between the ears…. like one motor would do something and the other motor would follow something else… I guess on the packaging they are calling this feature “syncopated vibration”… whatever you want to call it, it got interesting. With 20 functions, there is bound to be something that you enjoy (if not… you are too picky… which is cool… I can respect your superior tastes…)! Also, it is a pretty quiet vibrator for something with so many settings and power!
Overall, I’ve got to give the Screaming O Toone props for being a surprising little powerhouse, I really wasn’t expecting quite so much oomph or rumble out of this little thing. The shape isn’t really anything to write home about, pretty simple, its a ball with ears… but it gets the job done. The materials feels nice, the silicone very matte and has a nice drag to it, which really felt good against my skin, especially with a little bit of lube, it still had kind of a grabby feeling that felt good massaging around my body. Its easy to operate, its small and easy to store, I really found no issues with this toy at all. But like I said above, its not all that memorable either… like it didn’t have any major wow factor for me, even though the vibrations are nice and I orgasmed… its just a nice toy… and thats about it. But… if you are looking for a nice, palm sized rabbit eared vibe… you will probably enjoy the Screaming O Toone, I see no reason to not recommend it.
