Knock knock!
Who’s there?
Wand!
Wand who?
I’ve totally got another vibrating wand to review!
Okay, so maybe I’m not all that great at jokes, but I will tell you what I am great at… reviewing vibrating wands. I love these things. I have enough vibrating wands that I could dive in and swim around Scrooge McDuck style. And now I have one more!
The cool peeps at Peepshow Toys graciously sent me a wand that has been on my wishlist since the moment I heard this toy existed, the B Swish Bthrilled vibrating wand! I’m pretty excited about this one, the last B Swish toy I reviewed was the Bcurious, and I loved it. So I had really high hopes for their foray into the world of vibrating wands.
The Bthrilled wand looks more less like your average vibrating wand. The handle is made from ABS plastic, the bottom portion (below the silver band) unscrews to reveal the battery cavity. Screwing the cap back onto the wand body seems to be an exacting science. First of all, you have to line everything up just right or it won’t go back together. Second, if it is screwed too tight the wand doesn’t seem to work. I had a lot of frustration with the latter issue. I had dropped my batteries in, screwed it back together and even though the light on the bottom was lit up I couldn’t get it to vibrate. After dicking around with it for what felt like ages and almost deciding the toy was broken, I found that if I loosened the cap just a bit the toy would buzz to life. The wand head is kind of shaped like a big marshmallow, a big, hard, silicone coated marshmallow.
In use, I experienced a lot of issues with that damn cap. In mid-use the toy would just stop working. I’d mess with the cap, unscrewing and screwing it back together, trying to find the sweet spot that keeps the toy working. Eventually I started to wonder if it was just my batteries, so I changed to a fresh set of AAAs, and still the toy was fading in and out on me. Super frustrating! I don’t know if this is a defect with my particular wand, or an overall design flaw. UPDATE: I got in touch with B Swish and learned that the issue I was experiencing was a known issue with the first batch of Bthrilled wands and that it has since been corrected. They have sent me a replacement wand that now works perfectly! Yay! So, if you are experiencing any of my same issues, get in touch with B Swish and let them know!
I found the Bthrilled to be impressively strong for something powered by four AAA batteries (which are not included). I would even go so far as to say that the vibrations are almost rumbly in nature. There are five settings in total, three constant speeds and two pulsating patterns. The patterns are not all that exciting, pretty predictable and standard among vibrating toys. The lowest of the constant speeds feels like the most rumbly to me, normally with a vibrating wand I like to crank the speed up to max and get right down to business. But with the Bthrilled, I actually find myself lingering just a bit longer on the lower speed, enjoying the deep rumble against my clit. The highest of the vibrations does get a bit buzzy, but it does not lose any of its depth. The vibrations remain penetrating and powerful. While it is not exactly Doxy or Hitachi strong, the Bthrilled does hold its own as far as battery powered wands go.
Controlling the Bthrilled is as easy as pushing a button. Seriously, there is only a single button at the very bottom end of the wand. One push turns on the toy, then continuing to push cycles through the wands five settings until finally, on the sixth click you turn the toy off. You can also power down the Bthrilled by holding down the button until it turns off. The placement of this button is less than ideal for me, it causes me to hold the wand in kind of an awkward position. I would much prefer to see the controls on the body of the wand rather than the very bottom end. I also hate having to cycle through a toys every setting to get back to where I want to be. My ideal toy has both an up and down button so I can adjust the intensity accordingly, bonus points if the toy also has an entirely separate button for operating the patterns, that way I can just ignore them all together and just adjust the constant speed settings. But, I guess we make do with what we’ve got, and what we’ve got is a wand with a single button to operate all five of it’s settings. I suppose it could be worse, it could be a single button to operate twenty different settings… that would be sheer masturbation hell.
The Bthrilled is waterproof, which makes cleaning pretty easy. Although, I had a lube eruption in the backpack I was transporting some toys in which caused a delightful mess and one thing I noticed while having to clean said lube-splosion off the Bthrilled is the ridges of the wands neck were hard to get clean. The lube found its way deep into those ridges and dried and I ended up having to use a toothbrush to fully clean it. Other than that, cleaning is as easy as soaping it up and running it under the tap.
Are you looking for a vibrating wand that won’t break the bank? If so, the B Swish Bthrilled wand might be exactly what you are searching for. I am pretty fond of the way this wand looks, it is like a giant marshmallow plopped onto a chubby green stick, it’s sort of adorable. I think its power is more than adequate for most people, I’m a power hungry mad-man and I found the Bthrilled to be an excellent wand and had no trouble using it to bring myself to multiple orgasms. Portability is also a huge plus when it comes to the Bthrilled wand, easy to toss into a purse or overnight bag, something that I can not easily do with my Doxy. I can see the Bthrilled becoming one of my new vacation buddies!
