BS Atelier Max Queer Silicone Dildo in Genderqueer Pride Colors Ya’ll… I… I think…. I THINK I’VE FOUND MY NEW ALL TIME FAVORITE DILDO! And no, I am not overreacting. The BS Atelier Max Queer is an absolutely phenomenal dildo. Like… I have had this thing stuffed into my vagina pretty much nonstop since I’ve received it (which was October 20, 2018… so… it’s been up there awhile). I eat with it. I sleep with it. I brush my teeth with it. And yes, of course, I masturbate with it. I am just so in love with everything about the Max Queer.

I have reviewed a whole slew of Pride toys lately and while I have enjoyed the Avant Pride toys immensely, the build, the quality, the silicone, the colors…all wonderful… most of them still seemed to be lacking that little bit of oomph that I was looking for. The Max Queer is just taking everything to a whole new level for me, it is a dildo with a little bit more of that meat-on-its-bones feeling I was looking for… it has a bit more girth and substance to it than some of the more petite and delicate Avant Pride toys… and I am so here for it. I love being able to rock that Pride feeling with a toy that I love using (repeatedly)! And lets face it, the sex toy world is definitely in need of a little more Queerness… I’m so over seeing toys labeled as being for women/men/couples… and then seeing the default color for “women” being pink (okay… I personally love a good pink toy… but they don’t all have to be pink) and “mens” toys look all black and masculine and cool…because heaven forbid a penis toy be baby blue and glittery or something… come on people, it is 2019, so let’s all just be done with that kind of nonsense, okay? It’s still January, we can make it our New Year’s Resolution to just not gender our sex toys from here on out.

The BS Atelier Max Queer features the purple, white and green stripes of the genderqueer flag, which of all my Pride toys, this is the one I feel more closely identified with. I’ve always been too scared to put a label on myself, for fear of getting it wrong or being told that I am very clearly wrong by those who already identify as Queer… I have some major impostor syndrome happening. As a child I never really felt like I was one way or another… some days I felt more like a boy and enjoyed more typically masculine things and the next day I would feel firmly that I was a girl and do more typically feminine things and still on other days it didn’t feel like either mattered and I was all things at once and it always felt so perfectly normal to me. I never really thought much about it until I started blogging and meeting people and learning that there was more than just gay, lesbian and bisexual. Even now… I’m still trying to figure it all out…all I know is that I like what I like and that my desires are dynamic and ever changing… and it feels impossible to label something that doesn’t feel static…but for now, I’ve been quietly thinking of myself as queer… or at least queer-adjacent as I dip my toe into the pool to see if its what feels right. And it felt super weird to write all that out and now I am really trying hard to just leave it and not panic and delete it all… we better move on before I over think all of this…

BS Atelier Max Queer Silicone Dildo in Genderqueer Pride Colors I have been coveting a BS Atelier dildo for quite awhile now, my first introduction to the BS Atelier brand was while shopping at my favorite local sex toy shop, Smitten Kitten, and they had a shelf full of their super fun colored dildos! There were two in particular that caught my eye… there was one that looked like the spots on a cow and I was instantly in love with that… it was beautifully ridiculous. The second was one that I thought looked like an old school gym sock with its white body and and navy blue and red stripes around the base… for whatever reason, I find the whole gym sock look incredibly appealing. They truly are artisanal dildos… crafted by artisans in Madrid, Spain. They have turned their dildos into an art form…quirky dildo art that I want to display on the walls of my home! So, when SheVibe gave me the chance to review the BS Atelier Max Queer dildo I was 100% on board and excited!

The Max Queer is wonderfully curved with a very nicely pronounced ridge that feels absolutely delicious rubbing against my vaginal walls and across my g-spot. Size-wise the Max Queer is perfect for me… it is big enough to satisfy that craving I have for real fullness, but not so big that I can’t thrust comfortably with it… its in that “Goldilocks” territory… you know… just right. The Max has a total length of 8.46 inches with 7.48 of those inches being insertable. As far as girth goes, it is 1.75 inches at its widest point (near the base) that tapers into about 1.57 inches near the middle. It’s also got just enough squish that I don’t feel like I’m being assaulted by something overly firm (I like firm… but not with bigger toys… mostly I like firm when it comes to smaller, textured toys).

The base of the toy is kind of interesting, rather than being just circular, it has a kind of teardrop shape to it. I’m not sure if this is by design and how its supposed to work, or if its just a coincidence that it kept happening, but it seemed like the dildo always wanted to roll over and rest with the point of the teardrop facing down… which worked perfectly for how I liked the dildo positioned when it was inserted. This seemed to keep the shaft of toy and that curve sweeping upwards, pushing the the head into my g-spot. What I enjoyed most about that is I was able to insert the dildo then kind of go hands free while I used a vibrator in one hand and fiddle with my nipples with my other free hand without worrying about the dildo rolling away from where I wanted it. So… if this was a purposeful design function… then bravo! If not… well… it is a happy coincident that makes me enjoy the Max Queer all the more. The base is also flared and makes the Max Queer perfectly safe for anal use (which I highly suggest you try if you like bigger toys for butt stuff… I really like the way the pronounced head felt as it popped past my sphincter and into my butt) and works well in a harness (a great pegging dildo)!

In use I found that I also didn’t mind so much when the long head of the Max Queer slipped behind my cervix… normally I hate having anything bump up against me there, it makes me feel uncomfortable and tender… but there are certain cases when a toy actually feels good… and there is something about the Max Queer that was working for me and I really felt like it massaging around my cervix area somehow enhanced the orgasms I was having with this toy. This isn’t a feeling that happens to me often, so I’m kind of having a hard time putting it into words… but just know that it felt good and I appreciated it.

BS Atelier Max Queer Silicone Dildo in Genderqueer Pride Colors The silicone is also pretty matte and feels super draggy to me when I’m thrusting. Even with a goodly amount of lube I can feel the silicone grabbing at my vaginal walls, which really just enhances the whole experience for me. Since the toy is void of any real texture, having that grabby silicone feels nice, it helps the toy not feel totally lost to me. The grabby matte silicone is also really great at finding every piece of dog hair in my house… no matter how clean I think my floor/bed/couch/desk is… the Max Queer picks up every piece of hair and lint. But at least having a silicone toy means easy clean up, I usually like to just throw my silicone toys into the top rack of my dishwasher and let it run (without the soap)… I probably do a load of dildos at least once a week… because that is how I live my life. If you don’t have a dishwasher, or just have a hard enough time doing your dishes with the dishwasher and don’t want to add more work to your kitchen routine you can also just use your sink and run them under the water and give it a bit of a scrub. Luckily there really aren’t any nooks or crannies for gunk to really hide in, so it’s a pretty quick clean up… not a lot of scrubbing involved.

It’s really hard to beat the versatility of the BS Atelier Max Queer… this is a dildo for all seasons. I feel like it can accomplish anything… am I in the mood for anal? Cool, the Max Queer feels great in my butt. Am I read for a dildo to clench around while I use a wand? Excellent, the Max Queer can handle that. Do I want to thrust with wild abandon? The Max Queer is ready and waiting to take on that job. Slow and sensual exploration? Max Queer can do that too. Is there anything that this dildo can’t do for me?! Well… besides cook me breakfast? This dildo has, without a doubt, found a permanent spot in my bin of favorites that I keep under my bed. I could see this dildo maybe being underwhelming to anyone who likes a real girthy dildo or a lot of length or for anyone who really wants a textured dildo. But, for me, it is a dildo I am going to continue to reach for well into the future. So, if you are looking for a smooth, somewhat average (or maybe slightly above average) sized dildo that is kind of realistic but not a totally accurate recreation of a human penis, I can whole heartedly recommend the BS Atelier Max Queer.
