Luckily the Roq Ring is part of the latter group and therefore not completely hopeless on the orgasm giving front.
The first thing I noticed about the VeDO Roq was actually the price. When Peepshow Toys asked if I wanted to review the Roq I reflexively said yes (because honestly, I’m game for just about anything) then immediately checked out the VeDO Roq product page to see what exactly it was I agreed to. These more “luxury” vibrating cock rings tend to run at a higher price point (at least for the good ones), for example the Tenga SVR I reviewed last year is currently still selling for around $75.00 and the Hot Octopus Atom I will be reviewing later this Month rings in at $84.00… so I was expecting the VeDO Roq to be at least seventy bucks, if not more. So imagine my surprise to see a $39 price tag staring back at me. So either this was going to just be another cheap toy that sucks or I am in for a treat and I’ve found another toy to add to my list of “toys that don’t suck and won’t cost you an arm and a leg!” But yeah… a luxury vibrating cock ring without that luxury price, sounds like we are off to a good start!
So, I’ve actually had the Roq Ring in my possession for some time. It arrived a bit earlier than the VeDO Bam Mini Bullet and VeDO Inu Super Plus Rechargeable, But my Stunt Cock was out of town and off galavanting in who knows where, so I couldn’t review it right away. So instead I ended up doing the Bam Mini Bullet… which I down right loathed (the same way the Grinch loathed everything that happened down in Whoville each Christmas). This loathing made me super not excited to try my other VeDO toys, so I ignored them. But finally, when I could shirk my duties no more I gave the Inu Super Plus a go… and much to my great surprise… I actually liked it… which got me thinking that maybe VeDO as a whole isn’t bad, it was just that one crappy bullet. So, to make a long story short… this Roq Ring is the tie breaker… will it suck and cause me to want to avoid all VeDO Toys in the future or will it rock my world? Lets find out!
The Roq Ring is rather large, if you are going from a regular old silicone ring to the Roq Ring, you may be kind of shocked by the size and weight of this thing (I know I was the first time we got a quality rechargeable vibrating ring, I really didn’t see how a human penis could support such a thing… but apparently they can). I mean, it’s got to have a place to house all of it’s mechanical bits and bobs, also I feel like the bigger the ring the more surface area there is to actually make contact with my clit. So I am not at all turned off by the size of it.
The first test I did of the Roq Ring was the “can the vibrations get me off at all” test. The short answer is… yes. The long answers is… yes it can indeed. I held the little nub at the end of the Roq against my clit to see if the vibrations were something that even had any hope of bringing me an orgasm… and I’ve got to say, the Roq has that same kind of rumbly, most satisfying vibration that the Inu had… so hooray for that! Just holding the ring to my clit, the Roq was a bit too broad for my tastes… but I think since it won’t actually be just sitting on my clit when attached to a human penis, I think in the end being broad will be an asset. Their are 10 vibration modes to the Roq Ring, three steady vibrations and seven patterns. The intensity never got up to the “OH MY GOD YES” territory for me, but I did have a slow build yet satisfying orgasm with the intensities it did provide (which are pretty above average I’d say, I’m just a speed hound). The patterns weren’t all that bad either. Usually the thing I hate about patterns is the pause in between beats… to me it feels like “here have an orgasm… JUST KIDDING… here have an orgasm… JUST KIDDING” as it vibrates and dissipates against my clit. Many of the Roq’s patterns stay constant but change tempo a bit. So, with this we know that the Roq Rechargeable Ring is in fact capable of bringing me to orgasm… good… so we move onto phase two.
The second test I put the Roq Ring through was wrangling up a human penis and then placing the ring on said penis. The silicone band of the ring is quite stretchy, it went over the shaft of my Stunt Cock’s penis with no issue and should stretch to accommodate a reasonably wide variety of girths (unless you are like… above average porn star huge… the band did seem pretty tight to begin with, we kind of stretched and kneaded the silicone band and it seemed to loosen up a bit). We could’t quite stretch it out big enough to encompass both shaft and balls though… but my Stunt Cock does have rather… large… testicles… so maybe this was also a factor, some of you may be able to go whole hog with the Roq Ring. So, again… Roq Ring passed the test with flying colors… the silicone ring is stretchy and was indeed able to fit onto a human penis comfortably but snugly enough to stay put. Also, while we were testing the fit, we discovered a fun solo way to use this vibrating cock ring. While trying to figure out which direction the ring needed to go on, we ended up sliding it onto my Stunt Cock’s penis what is probably considered to be backwards, with the little clit stimulating nub facing his balls. Turns out this isn’t a terrible thing, my Stunt Cock turned on the vibrations and really enjoyed having the vibrations tickle his testicles. He said he could see using it that way as a form of foreplay during masturbation or even before turning it around the correct way for penetrative sex. Okay… this last test was the biggy. The one most vibrating cock rings really fail at miserably at… the penetrative sex test. That’s right, it is time for some serious penis in vagina action here… and much to my surprise… I didn’t hate the Roq Ring in use… but it also didn’t cause me any orgasms either (which is pretty much what I was expecting). BUT from the first test we know that the Roq Ring is capable of giving me an orgasm on its own… so I think the problem is really that the bouncing madness of a cock ring coming and going … appearing and disappearing… it is too much for me… its almost too distracting for me, like… how the hell am I supposed to concentrate on this orgasm I’m trying to have when I’ve got this vibrating game of cock ring tag happening with my clit. The little clitoral stimulation nub at the end of the toy almost managed to get me there, it did slip between my labia and managed to find my clit more often than not… but the contact just wasn’t consistent enough for me to reach an orgasm. So, when penis on top didn’t do it for me, I decide to take matters into my own hands and try me on top. This worked out somewhat better, I was able to do a little more grinding against the toy and enjoy it that way… I probably could have orgasmed this way if given enough time, but my partner was getting uncomfortable with having the hard vibrating machine press into his pubic region and pinching against his balls. So, in the end I made my Stunt Cock ditch the ring and finish me off sans toy.
Some other interesting points of interest about the Roq Ring… As the name implies the VeDO Roq Rechargeable Ring is definitely rechargeable. You should get about 45 minutes of Roq run time on a full charge. TheVeDO Roq is also 100% waterproof, so take it in the shower, have it join you for a bath, bring it to the pool… whatever you want, it’ll continue to work in water! It is also remarkably quiet, I was kind of surprised by that… I don’t know why, but I am always really surprised when a toy doesn’t sound like a tractor-trailer on rumble strips… but maybe this is because my go to toys are by no means quiet.
So, I think I am fairly comfortable recommending the VeDO Roq Rechargeable Ring to any one looking for a quality vibrating cock ring. I think for the right person (a person who is not me) this toy could really be amazing. It seems to have all the right elements to it… its made with a soft, easy to clean silky silicone, it has a stretchy band that should accommodate a reasonably wide variety of penis girths, the vibrations it produces are rumbly and pleasant… it just all comes down to… I personally am not a vibrating cock ring person… but if you are and you want an affordable vibrating cock ring, look no further, because the VeDO Roq might be just what you are looking for!
