My Aslan Leather Pink Padded Collar was a little bit of an impulse buy a couple of years ago. I saw it in the store and fell so in love I knew I had to have it. There were also a set of ankle and wrist cuffs that matched that I dearly would have loved to have purchased as well, but the collar was a bit of a pricey impulse buy as it was! One day I’ll go back for the rest of the set… one day.

The dark pink and black colors are what first drew me to this particular collar. I have a little bit of a girly side to me, the pink appealed to me (I know, cliche right?). But once I had the collar in my hands, the sheer quality of this piece was apparent.
The inner padded part of the collar is so soft and supple, very comfortable. The outer ring of the collar is made up of a much stiffer leather, which helps the collar keep its shape. According to the shop I purchased this from the collar is “handmade by master leather workers from both harness leather and garment leather with metal hardware.” So, its not vegan… but, a quick perusal of their website shows they do carry a small line of vegan products, so don’t feel left out if being a submissive vegan is your thing!
It fits me pretty comfortably. The collar fits a 12 to 16 inch neck and is pretty tall. It fills the space between my collarbone and chin pretty snugly, giving me a pretty limited range of motion, but not in an uncomfortable way. I’m not sure how well this would fit on someone who has a smaller neck or shorter stature, you may find yourself craning your neck more than would be comfortable.
Because it is so thickly padded, it was really easy to over tighten it on accident. So please be aware of that when you are putting the collar on yourself or your partner, make sure you leave enough room to breath. What seemed to fit okay at first quickly became too tight when I started breathing hard and heavy. I almost wish it wasn’t quite so padded, but I suppose for long term wear, the padding is nice.

The collar also features a metal ring, good for attaching a leash or tying your submissive down, so you can leave the room knowing they will be right where you left them. The collar also has a place to thread a padlock, should you wish for the collar to remain on.
Something else to keep in mind before purchasing your own collar, leather is a porous material, which means it cannot be totally sanitized. You can clean it, but it will be next to impossible to get into every little open nook and cranny of the material. Also, make note, the leather will absorb water, so you will want to use as little of it as possible when cleaning. Basic household hand soaps or dish soaps can damage dyed leather as well as dry it out, which will cause your item to crack or fray. The oils in lubricants and soaps can stain the leather. So, only use soaps that are made specifically for cleaning leather like saddle soap or specialty leather wipes. Once you’ve finished cleaning, pat the collar dry with a clean towel to remove any excess moisture from the leather. If you are a stickler for hygiene (which I hope you are) this collar is not going to be ideal for sharing with others.
Over time and with heavy use you may find it necessary to use a leather conditioner on your collar to keep the leather from wearing out or cracking. This may be especially necessary around the buckle. But, the good news is, should your collar break during typical wear, you can contact Aslan Leather’s and they will repair or replace the item at their discretion. A sex toy with a warranty, good deal!

So, would I recommend this collar? Yes. It is a quality piece of bondage gear, comfortable, well made, comes with a warranty, and looks nice. If you are on the smaller side, I would recommend trying to find a shop near you that carries Aslan products so you can try it on before you buy, since it may not fit a shorter neck quite as comfortably.
