When I masturbate, I generally prefer vibrators to dildos. And I am especially fond of external stimulation and often times prefer it to internal stimulations. So, more often than not, when I agree to review a dildo it’s because it is either ridiculously enormous or it possesses some kind of odd/interesting shape or feature that I’m really curious to try out (you know, like dragon dicks). So, when Peepshow Toys sent me an email asking if I would like to review the Blush Luxe Mio, I looked at it’s stats and was concerned there just wasn’t enough of it there to be satisfying or enough texture to be interesting. I can be a little bit of a size queen… not always, but I do appreciate a well hung toy more often than not. So, even though I was pretty skeptical of this dildo, I decided for the sake of variety and to just challenge my own personal preferences (no sense in putting myself in a rut, it’s fun to try new things), I agreed to review the Mio.
And you know what? I’m glad I did. This little shorty turned out to be a ton of fun!
Now, contrary to popular belief, not every dildo needs to be built like a horse (literally or figuratively) in order to be satisfying (a fact that the Mio just reminded me of). A dildo doesn’t need to be eight inches long and covered in a larger than life veiny texture. Sometimes less is more. And if you need proof of that age old adage, well, just take a look at the Blush Luxe Mio. This little dildo has 5.5 inches of insertable length (6 inches total length) with a thick 2 inches in girth, making this one short (well, average penis size) and squat dildo. The girth of this toy is what really impresses me the most about it, it is one chubby penis and I love it!
The Blush Luxe Mio is made from silicone (so avoid silicone based lubes) with a lovely smooth satin finish. There is practically no squish or flex to this toy, the silicone it is made from is incredibly firm. Normally I don’t like super firm silicone stabbing me in my cervix, it’s uncomfortable. But, since this toy is on the shorter side, I didn’t find the firmness of the silicone to be much of an issue. Design-wise the Mio is pretty simple, the entire the toy is completely texture free except for an almost imperceptible seam that appears to run the entire length of the dildo on either side. This seam does make me wonder if the toy is actually 100% silicone, or if there is some kind of core material surrounded by silicone. It is also possible that the seam is nothing more than a byproduct of how it’s made as well. Either way, it is barely noticeable and I definitely did not feel it when it was inserted (which is almost a bummer, I crave texture). The base of the Blush Luxe Mio makes the toy both anal safe and harness comparable as well as acting as a fairly decent suction cup. It isn’t the strongest suction cup in the world but it held onto my desk and floor pretty well. The shaft of the Mio has a very gentle curve that is topped of by a large, bulbous head. The overall design suggests a penis but it is not at all realistic, which I know will be appreciated by some of my readers (heck, even I kind of like that).
In use I quickly discovered that I hated the Blush Luxe Mio as a thrusting toy. It is just too short, I felt stunted, like I was expecting more of a stroke but it just wasn’t there. However, all is not lost! What the Blush Luxe Mio is great at is being clenched! The girth just shines here. Also that nice wide head was perfect for pressing and rocking against my g-spot. With the Mio inserted I pulled out my trusty Doxy vibrating wand and went to town. The orgasm I had while clenched around the girth-tastic Mio was absolutely wonderful!
The only thing about the Mio that I find at all irritating is the little dimple at the top of the toys head. It serves no discernible purpose. I don’t feel it at all when I insert the toy, so it has no texture value. I’m guessing it’s just there for aesthetic reasons, but why? All it really seems to do is collect butt and vag junk and force me to add an extra step when it comes time to clean up (gotta brush the goo from the dimple). I would have far preferred to see the Mio with a smooth, dimpleless head.
So, what do I recommend? Well, the Blush Luxe Mio, despite my hesitation and skepticism, actually turned out to be a fairly fantastic dildo. I would say that it’s shorter length and it’s above average girth would make this a great toy for anyone who really craves something thick but can’t handle (or just doesn’t like) the length that often times comes with a really girthy toy. I also think this is a great dildo for anyone who prefers clenching to thrusting, as I said earlier, this work out amazingly well for me as something to clench around while using an external vibrator. The Blush Luxe Mio is also an excellent choice for anyone looking for a quality, body-safe dildo on a budget, as it can be had for under $30! There are many things to love about the Blush Luxe Mio and over all I would say this is a solid toy and a worthwhile purchase (unless you are a size queen looking for your next conquest)!
