If you haven’t tried a Vixen Vixskin dildo, have you really even lived? One of my favorite dildo materials of all time, the Vixskin is a dual-density 100% silicone creation made exclusively by Vixen Creations. Dual-density is characterized by having a hard inner core that is covered in a soft, spongy outer layer creating a pretty realistic, skin-like toy. I’ve had experience with dual-density toys before, Tantus makes it’s own line of dual-density (such as the Flurry O2) and while I love the Tantus O2 line, it is nothing compared to the VixSkin dual-density material. VixSkin is in a league of its own, I’m tellin’ ya.
Whenever I find myself visiting the Smitten Kitten (my all time fav sex toy shop in Minneapolis) I always end up squeezing the display of VixSkin dildos. Always. You know the “Don’t Squeeze the Charmin” lady? That’s me, only with VixSkin. Last Halloween Smitten Kitten held a Halloweenie sale, so OF COURSE I had to pick myself up a VixSkin of my very own. After much deliberation, I ended up purchasing the Goodfella, mostly because I found the placement of the testicles interesting… and the Mustang had sold out by the time I got around to adding something to my cart.
Vixen packaging is pretty simple, the Goodfella arrived in a clear plastic clam shell box… when your toy is this awesome looking, you don’t need to waste time on fancy packaging. Although, this does mean that the Goodfella did not come with any sort of storage bag or easy way to keep it lint free when not in use… and believe me, this thing will collect lint like it was born for it.
I know we’ve all got our own feels about realistic dildos, but love them or hate them I think there is one thing we can all agree on, if you are looking for a realistic dildo, Vixen Creations makes hands down some of the best faux-wieners on the market today. And the Goodfella is realistic to the max, just look at those veins, that textured skin, and that cluster of cute little wrinkles where the foreskin is pulled back from the nicely pronounced head. It’s a work of art. Penis art.
Size wise the Goodfella is what I consider a medium-ish sized dildo with a a total length of 7 inches (with about 5 of those inches being insertable) and a width of 1.5 inches at it’s largest point. There is a slight curve to the Godfella’s shaft, which I thought would make for good g-spotting, but it wasn’t quite what I had hopped (more on that later). What I think makes Goodfella unique is that the toy’s testicles don’t make up the base of the toy like many of the more traditional dildos with balls, but rather they sit just a smidge higher up on the shaft with a separate flared base at the bottom of the toy. Which makes Goodfella looks super weird to me when it’s standing up right on it’s own, but looks super awesome when in a harness as the balls will sit on the outside of the harness, giving you the appearance of having a very nice set of testicles (cold weather testicles, as these balls are pretty round, high and tight).
The Goodfella comes in three different skin tone colors with food inspired names, vanilla, caramel… want to guess what the last color is? If you guess chocolate, you would be correct. My Goodfella, the Goodfella pictured in this review is the chocolate color, which is probably my very favorite of the three available shades, it is warm, rich and incredibly inviting. It looks like the kind of chocolate I would like to find in my Easter basket instead of a milk chocolate bunny…
The flared base and testicles make the Goodfella perfectly safe for anal play. I’m not usually a dildo in the ass sort of girl, I mostly prefer butt plugs, but there have been some exceptions (for example, the Split Peaches Unicorn Horn Dildo turned out to be an amazing anal toy) and the Vixen Creations GoodFella has turned into one of those exceptions. It is the perfect size and girth for my booty, however the silicone is kind of tacky and has some drag to it so I requires a fair amount of lube to insert and thrust comfortably.
In use, the lightly curved body causes the head of the toy to graze up against my g-spot as I thrust the toy in and out but I have a hard time getting any satisfying pressure against it. The curve of the shaft is just too gentle to hit my deeply set g-spot and the silicone is just to flexible to provide any ‘ridgid’ stimulation against my g-spot. But even so, I still found great satisfaction thrusting the Goodfella in and out, going balls deep if you will. The head of the Goodfella isn’t so pronounced that it pops against my pubic bone as I pull it out or push it in, which makes for some pretty smooth thrusting action. The texture of the toy isn’t super pronounced against my vaginal walls, but it still feels pretty nice. It also works equally as well for me to just hold and clench the Goodfella while I go to town with my Doxy Wand. It is a slimmer dildo, so if girth is your thing, you might not find the Goodfella quite as satisfying. But the whole super realism of the toy really gets my imagination going and I don’t need a whole lot of fancy bells and whistles to get off while using the Goodfella.
Because it is made of silicone, the Goodfella is a breeze to clean. Toss it into some boiling water, run it through the dishwasher (no soap), or use just good old fashion soap and warm water. When it comes to lube, I would err on the side of caution and avoid silicone based lubes with the Goodfella. Granted, I’ve used silicone lube on my toy and have had no issues as of yet… but I like to live dangerously. I might not be the best role model, do as I say not as I do and all that yadda, yadda, yadda.
So, my recommendation? Buy it! I have nothing but high praise for Vixen’s entire line of realistic dildos and if you are in the market for a little realism, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. The price may be a little bit of a drawback, but these toys are so amazingly awesome that they are worth it… I mean, look at me… I actually paid my own personal money to get my hands on one of these things (and I’m a cheapskate money hoarder)! Also, since they are a high quality silicone toy, if you take good care of it the Goodfella could last you pretty much a lifetime. There are armies of realistic dildos out there, but the Vixen Creations VixSkin Goodfella really manages to stand out and be unique, from the subtle pushed back foreskin (hello, un-cut dildos!), to the placement of the testicles, to the very human penis-esque texture and feel… I really don’t think you can go wrong adding one of these (or any VixSkin) to your collection.
